Lefty Grove was a six-time All-Star two-time World Champion two-time Triple Crown winner and the 1931 A.L. MVP. The flame throwing southpaw was a key ingredient in Connie Mack's second great dynasty in the late 1920's and early 1930's and pitched the final game of his Hall of Fame career for the Boston Red Sox the day that Ted Williams elevated his 1941 batting average to .406. Here we find his bold (8/10) black ink signature on the sweet spot of a non-official Spalding “Baseball Hall of Fame” brand sphere. The ball has varied levels of toning throughout but the sweet spot bearing his signature is quite clean. Despite living almost thirty years beyond his 1947 Hall of Fame induction Grove single signed balls are quite scarce especially in this condition. It may be a while before a comparable specimen makes it way to the auction block. Includes full LOA's from PSA/DNA and JSA.
