Stanley Oliver started making baseball bats for a living in 1995 quitting his job as a supervisor at a cable factory to start "Stick by Stan" a boutique company that catered to a handful of Major Leaguers who wanted more customization and attention than the larger bat manufacturers were giving them. Early customers included Ozzie Smith and Brian Jordan who started using his bats when he made them in his wood shop on weekends and at night. Eventually Tony Gwynn one of the games most astute connoisseurs of baseball lumber showed up at his Veterans Stadium stand before a game.

Presented here from the personal collection of former MLB relief pitcher Gregg Olson is a rare Tony Gwynn Stick by Stan professional model bat made for the Padres superstar c.1999 to similar specifications as Gwynns Louisville Slugger models of the same period. Black marker notations of "B267c" 33-30.5 and "19" appear on the knob and "B267" and "19" are repeated in the cupped barrel end in black marker. The bat is uncracked and shows moderate use including light ball marks and rack marks. Gwynn signed the barrel above the barrel stampings in large black Sharpie. A rare find sure to please any advanced Gwynn collector.

Includes LOA from Gregg Olson. Autograph pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
