The definitive basketball autograph of the modern era arrives in extraordinary form: a Spalding Official Game Ball NBA bearing the David J. Stern facsimile signed by Kobe Bryant during his 1996-97 rookie season with the Los Angeles Lakers. The ball carries special embossed text commemorating Bryant's historic draft position — "1996-97 Rookie Season, Kobe 8 Bryant, LA Lakers via Charlotte, 1st Round 13th Overall" — making it a purpose-built commemorative piece from the very launch of the most celebrated NBA career of his generation.

 

Bryant's large, sweeping black marker signature arcs boldly across one full panel of the orange Spalding leather, appearing with exceptional boldness and clarity. Bryant went on to win five NBA championships, two Finals MVP awards, and become one of the three greatest players in NBA history before his tragic passing in 2020.
