Golden State Warriors superstar forward Kevin Durant was selected with the #2 overall pick in the 2007 draft by the Seattle SuperSonics. The lanky 6’ 11” sharpshooter was named NBA Rookie of the Year before taking his talents to Oklahoma City when the franchise relocated there before the 2008-09 season. In his third NBA season and second with the Thunder Durant won his first scoring title (30.1 ppg) and made his first All-Star team. The 2010 All-Star Game was held at newly opened Cowboys Stadium in Dallas with a record crowd of 108713—the most ever for a basketball game. The East defeated the West 141-139 behind Dwyane Wade’s MVP performance. Durant tallied 15 points and 5 rebounds in 20 minutes of action for the West.

Featured here are Durant’s game-worn Nike “KD2” sneakers from his first ever All-Star appearance; what’s more this special pair is signed by 24 members from the East and West squads and comes with outstanding provenance. The consignor used to be KD’s personal basketball skills trainer during his first few seasons in OKC working with him in the off-season in Washington D.C. where Kevin grew up. He attended all festivities during 2010 All-Star Weekend (images of tickets included) as KD’s guest and got the shoes directly from KD after the game on Sunday February 14. Durant passed his game shoes around both locker rooms to get all the signatures.

The Nike ‘KD II Supreme’ shoes have a mid-top design with a hard rubber exterior and black lace holder strap stamped with the “kd” logo. The original laces matching the shoes’ bright colors (Nike calls it “Daring Red”) are present. “Kevin Durant” is stamped on each tongue and with a “WEST – DALLAS TEXAS – 2010” patch on each insole. Durant’s standard size 18 is marked on the interior Nike tagging along with “SEASON SP10” and a manufacturing date of “20100128”. They display the appropriate amount of wear for a one-game style with a few areas of scuffing and creasing. Heal drag and tread are evident.

The right shoe is signed by 11 East All-Stars including LeBron James Dwyane Wade Kevin Garnett Paul Pierce Chris Bosh Derrick Rose Rajon Rondo Joe Johnson Al Horford David Lee and Gerald Wallace. The left shoe is signed by 13 West All-Stars including Tim Duncan Jason Kidd Chris Paul Steve Nash Dirk Nowitzki Paul Gasol Carmelo Anthony Chauncey Billups Amar’e Stoudemire Zach Randolph Brandon Roy Deron Williams and Chris Kaman. The only players missing are Dwight Howard from the East and Durant himself from the West who was apparently too busy getting everyone else to sign his own shoes! All signature come in bold 8-9/10 black marker.

It should be noted that a different pair claiming to be Durant’s 2010 All-Star shoes was sold in 2013 by another auction house for $9560. We can neither confirm nor deny that the other pair was listed in good faith. What we do know is that the provenance of this offered pair is much stronger and we stand behind our consignor 100%. He has provided numerous tickets passes and documents from his company (Knock'em Down Sports LLC) to back up his story and verify his prior working relationship with Durant. In addition a sentence in the other pair’s online description is puzzling: “As typical for Durant sneakers the original tags have been removed and they measure at 14" in length.”

We have sold two pairs of Durant gamers before and in neither pair were the original tags removed. It is common practice nowadays for some players to change shoes or jerseys at halftime or even on the sidelines during games. Star players such as Durant Curry and LeBron have memorabilia obligations to meet in their contracts. Some will change simply for comfort. Perhaps Durant wore two identical-looking pairs at the 2010 All-Star Game. There is an image (Getty 96705908) of KD being interviewed by the late Craig Sager in the locker room after the game with two pairs of his Nike “KD 2” shoes visible; he is wearing one pair and above his locker sits the other. The signatures make photo-matching difficult but we are confident that the winning bidder will receive the pair shown on KD’s feet.

Includes LOA from Durant’s former skills trainer. Also comes with two full LOA’s from PSA/DNA—one for each team-signed shoe. The game credentials and passes listed will be kept by the consignor.
