In 1997 classic realist Danny Day produced a Kareem Abdul-Jabbar limited-edition print series consisting of 340 signed/numbered copies 40 artist's proofs and 20 giclees—all endorsed with Kareem's signature. Presented here is the sole original oil-on-canvas Abdul-Jabbar painting on which that entire popular print series was based. The 31" x 42" work features absolutely radiant color tones and renders "The Captain" as well as any artist ever has with a career-spanning montage of sky hooks plus a regal bust-length portrait set against a beautiful arena backdrop. It is matted and framed to 41" x 51" (slight frame wear) and signed by the artist.
Day's website describes his style and accomplishments this way: "For over two decades Danny while being one of the most prolific and versatile American artists has established a reputation worldwide for the high quality of his original works of art. Danny has made it a lifelong quest to master and refine his version of realism perfecting the 'master's technique' of oils on canvas. Rich color and eye popping clarity are the hallmarks embodied in his works."
Shipping: Due to the frame dimensions the cost of shipping may be substantial. Local pick-up recommended.
Payment for your invoice must clear in full prior to shipping. All items will be shipped from SCP Auctions’ Laguna Niguel, CA office in the order that payments are received. Please allow up to three business days following clearance of payment for items to ship. All items will be shipped UPS/FedEx Ground unless you contact us to discuss an alternative shipping method.
