On February 28 1992 at the Trump Taj Mahal Hotel in Atlantic City Julius “Dr. J” Erving squared off against Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the “First One-on-One World Championship Basketball Game.” This battle of two legendary Hall of Famers – billed as “Clash of the Legends” – was broadcast live on pay per view cable TV. This lot features a full color framed poster (23” wide by 33.5” high) announcing the event that showcases the pair staring one another down. The poster has a scratch at the upper left edge and a few scrapes at the middle/lower right border but displays well and is nicely framed. The second part of this lot consists of 14.5" by 20” signed full color photo of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar going in for a layup against Erving during their date with destiny. Both have signed the print in perfect looking 10/10 black felt tip pen to the upper left of the action.
Includes a signed LOA from Julius Erving confirming that both originated from his personal collection.
