Before he turned out to be a two-time NBA Champion floor general for the Boston Celtics Jo Jo White was a hard-driving scorer and playmaker and two-time NCAA All-America selection for the University of Kansas Jayhawks mens basketball team. This lot features a special award White received from the Boston Celtics when the Kansas Jayhawks retired his jersey on January 27 2003. The award is a small crystal basketball from Tiffany & Co. with Whites college jersey number 15 etched into the front. It sits upon a two-tiered black wooden base that measures three inches high by four inches wide. On the front of the base is a specially engraved nameplate that reads: Jo Jo Congratulations on being recognized for your outstanding accomplishments at The University of Kansas Your family at the Boston Celtics January 27 2003.
