In 1975 Jesse Owens was a guest at the Nash Higgins Relays in Tampa, Florida. The annual event is named after the University of Tampa’s legendary track coach, Nash Higgins. This medal was awarded to Owens at the 1975 event, and the year is engraved on the reverse. The front of the medal has the winged foot track symbol surrounded by “NASH HIGGINS RELAYS.” There is a loop designed for wearing around the neck. The medal, made of a lightweight metal and most likely just gold-washed, measures 38mm in diameter and weighs 22 grams. It shows light surface wear.
Includes LOA signed by each of Jesse Owens' three daughters.
