The great Jackie Robinson broke Major League Baseballs color barrier on April 15 1947. He immediately made a positive impact on the Brooklyn Dodgers and helped them get to the World Series in just his first year by batting .297. Though he started at first base Robinson would eventually find a home playing second base. This lot features an immaculate cut signature of Robinsons in black ink that has been paired beautifully with a black-and-white photo in a frame that measures 18 wide by 18 high. The photo shows Robinson on the Dodgers dugout steps flanked by fellow Brooklyn infielders shortstop Pee Wee Reese left and third baseman Billy Cox right. The photo was taken sometime during the early 50s. A great piece of baseball nostalgia surrounding one of the games most impactful players ever.
