NOTE: This group of autographed footballs was assembled by Mike Garrett for the Newport Sports Museum while he served as the Athletic Director for USC. Garrett wrote letters to past Heisman winners and obtained each of these balls personally. A Heisman Trophy winner himself Garrett won the award in 1965 as a tailback for the USC Trojans.

The Heisman Memorial Trophy is the most coveted award in college football. Since its debut in 1935 a total of 77 different college football standouts have walked away with the sought-after prize thats bestowed annually upon college footballs best player. Ohio State running back Archie Griffin is the only player to have won it twice (1974 and 75). This incredible assortment of autographed Wilson footballs includes 71 of the past Heisman Trophy winners each one captured on a single-signed white panel football. The majority of the signatures were scrawled with black fine point Sharpies clearly legible with some added inscriptions along the way. Stanford QB Jim Plunkett for instance who was the 1970 Heisman Trophy winner signed his panel football with a call out to his most successful NFL team: #16 Raiders. Some of the footballs even include the Heisman Trophy insignia on one of the panels such as O.J. Simpson's (1968) while others feature the college logo of the superstar like Boston College's Doug Flutie (1984). The assortment dates to the original recipient Jay Berwanger of the University of Chicago in 1935 and includes other notable names like Tom Harmon (42); Felix Doc Blanchard (45); Doak Walker (48); Paul Hornung (56); Roger Staubach (63); Pat Sullivan (71); Tony Dorsett (76); Earl Campbell (77); Marcus Allen (81); Bo Jackson (85); Barry Sanders (88); Ricky Williams (98); Reggie Bush (05); Tim Tebow (07); Cam Newton (10); and Robert Griffin III (11). The massive collection of signed footballs has been on display at the recently closed Newport (Calif.) Sports Museum and truly represents a jaw-dropping lineup of college footballs finest players ever.

Includes a letter of provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.
