This magnificent NASA-issued photograph documents the climax of mankind's greatest adventure – the first landing on the moon by Apollo 11 on July 20, 1969. Taken in glorious color by astronaut Neil Armstrong, the image captures fellow space explorer Buzz Aldrin deploying scientific equipment on the surface of the moon. Armstrong’s photo wonderfully depicts the Lunar Module in great detail along with the rocky surface of the moon. The image is enhanced by the stark vastness of the universe that lies beyond Aldrin and the Lunar Module. The Type 1 image measures 8" x 10" and has all four borders. The reverse of the photo has the original printed National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) credit stamp and caption along with two catalog number stamps. Encapsulated Type 1 by PSA/DNA.
