Ty Cobb once described George Sisler as "the nearest thing to a perfect ballplayer." Here we present the nearest thing to a perfect Sisler single signed baseball. The offered creamy-white OAL (Cronin) baseball displays a broadly scripted black ink signature across the length of the sweet spot rating 8 out of 10 only a few miniscule surface abrasions affect the ball one of which touches the small g of his signature. Formerly part of the famed Barry Halper Collection this is among the very finest single signed specimens of the 1939 Inaugural Cooperstown inductee. George Sisler began his career in 1915 as a skilled pitcher with a promising future but like another talented lefthander before him Babe Ruth it would soon became apparent that his hitting abilities could no longer be overlooked. By 1917 Sisler had established himself as the finest first baseman in the game and would later hit over .400 on two separate occasions. He retired in 1930 with a lifetime .340 average tying him with Lou Gehrig for fourteenth on the all-time list. EX-Halper.

Includes a full LOA from PSA/DNA.
