George Wright was the star shortstop of baseball's first openly all-professional team the 1869 Cincinnati Red Stockings for whom he hit 49 home runs in 57 games and batted an astounding .633. Besides being a feared slugger Wright was renowned as a superior fielder revolutionizing play at shortstop. He went on to captain the Boston Red Stockings to four straight National Association flags (1872-75). Brother of fellow baseball pioneer and Hall of Famer Harry Wright George also captained Boston to National League pennants in 1877 and '78 and in 1879 led Providence to the city's first league championship. George Wright died in 1937 and was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame that same year.

This March 24 1919 Wright & Ditson Victor Company Special Meeting of the Board of Directors document is signed by 19th Century baseball legend George Wright. As a member of the board Wright has signed in beautiful 9/10 looking vintage blue ink along with the 4 other members. The 8 1/4" by 11" document has been glued to a larger 8 1/4" by 13" lined piece of paper.(Looks to be from company archives). Tough Hall of Fame autograph in great condition.
