The George Woolf Memorial Jockey Award has been presented by Santa Anita Park in Arcadia California annually since 1950 to the thoroughbred horse racing jockey in North America who demonstrates high standards of personal and professional conduct on and off the racetrack. The award was created through donations from the racing public after the death of Hall of Fame jockey George Woolf. The one-time-only award is voted on by members of the Jockeys' Guild who choose from among their peers nominated by Guild regional managers. The trophy that goes along with the award is a one-foot-high replica of the life-size statue of George Woolf that along with a bronze sculpture of his favorite mount Seabiscuit has a place of honor in the Santa Anita Paddock Gardens.

This 12-pound replica of the George Woolf Memorial Jockey Award stands 19 tall and includes a wooden base on top of which stands a nine-inch-tall bronze statue of George Woolf. The two side panels of the wooden base are adorned by gold plaques with the names of past winners engraved. On the left side are the names of the George Woolf Memorial Jockey Award from 1950 through 1974 including William Shoemaker (1951) Eddie Arcaro (53) and Angel Cordero Jr. (72). The right side meanwhile shows the names of the winners from 1975 through 1998 including Ron Turcotte (79) Chris McCarron (80) Steve Cauthen (84) and Greg Perret (98).

Includes a Letter of Provenance from the Helms Athletic Foundation/LA84 Collection.
