This is a fascinating glimpse into the inner workings - minutiae even - of the New York Yankees in the 1980's. Here are a total of 58 pages of mostly internal New York Yankees documents and memos often on official Yankees letterhead and typically touching on virtually everything you could imagine: salaries trades prospects drug testing irksome newspaper reporting airline manifests leases and even discussions about purchasing a space heater or a number of newspaper subscriptions. George Costanza could have used this lot for preparation for his infamous portrayals of The Boss; many of the memorandum here are addressed to George Steinbrenner - often from team president Woody Woodward - and more than a dozen of the documents carry Steinbrenner's "GSM" signature initials. A goodly number also carry some of Steinbrenner's well-known pointed commentary. The papers are in excellent condition as befits such noble inter-office communication from the most storied franchise in Major League Baseball history.
