A six-foot-two southpaw former big league pitcher Gary Peters played a total of 14 seasons in the major leagues (1959 to ’73) the first 11 of which were spent with the Chicago White Sox. His best season ever took place in 1964 when the 27-year-old Peters posted a record of 20-8 with a 2.50 ERA and 205 strikeouts. This campaign was fast on the heels of his 19-8 effort from the previous season.This lot features Peters’ circa 1960’s game used Spalding professional model fielder’s glove prior to his move to the Boston Red Sox in 1970. The “E-Z FLEX” well-worn gloveshows incredible game usage with its leather cracking and flaking over time although its original stitching and lacing appears to be intact. A solid pitcher with 124 career wins to his credit Peters also possessed a steady glove as is evidenced by his .966 fielding percentage.Includes LOA from Gary Peters.
