The 1974 Los Angeles Dodgers finished the regular season with a record of 102-60, good for the best record in baseball. The Boys in Blue handled the Pittsburgh Pirates in four games in the NLCS to set up an all-California World Series matchup with the Oakland Athletics. The Dodgers ultimately fell to the A's in that Series, allowing Oakland to win their third consecutive World Series championship.

Offered is former Dodgers General Manager Fred Claire's Balfour 10K gold National League Champions ring. The face of the ring has the iconic interlocking “LA” with genuine diamonds set in a large blue stone. “DODGERS” and “CHAMPIONS” are in raised lettering on the top and bottom, while “NATIONAL” and “LEAGUE” are recessed on the sides. The left shank has “1974” in raised lettering with an overhead image of Dodger Stadium below. The opposite shank has “CLAIRE” recessed in a banner on the top, with the “Dodgers” logo and a baseball below with the interlocking “LA”. The “BALFOUR 10K” stamp is on the inside. This ring weighs 30 grams and is a size 11. Part of the Claire Collection.

Fred Claire was a longtime member of the Dodgers front office. He was the general manager of the team from 1987 to 1998. After a dismal 1987 season, Claire built the team into a contender overnight. After aquiring players like Kirk Gibson, the Dodgers won the 1988 World Series over the heavily favored Oakland A's in just five games. A portion of the proceeds from each of Claire's items in this auction will go to the City of Hope.
