Retired NBA point guard Lafayette Fat Lever was selected No. 11 overall in the 1982 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers. The Arizona State standout proceeded to have a stellar career in the pros as he was a two-time NBA All-Star (1988 and 90) and finished with 10443 career points averaging 13.9 per game. Following the 1986-87 season he was named All-NBA Second Team for his outstanding efforts for the Denver Nuggets when he played in all 82 regular season games and averaged 18.9 points per outing. This lot features his All-NBA Second Team trophy from that season. The award stands 17 high by nine inches wide and boasts a brass basketball sitting atop a two-tiered wooden base. The specially engraved gold plaque on the front which includes the red white and blue NBA logo reads: LAFAYETTE LEVER Denver Nuggets 1986-87 All-NBA Team Second Team.
