This phenomenal Mickey Mantle store model glove housed in its original shelf-display box remains in outstanding barely used condition. The model "MM 8" right-handed fielders glove features Mantle's facsimile signature stamped in the palm; additional silver stampings in and around the pocket include a small line drawing of Mantle himself as well as the slogans Major League Deep Well Model Floating Heel and Professional. Incredibly the gloves leather remains soft and supple all of the laces are intact and there is a minimum of standard corrosion along the eyelets (as is so commonly found on gloves of this age). Equally impressive is its original 2-part box an 8 x 8-1/2 x 6container that shows no less than nine black-and-white photos of The Mick at various stations around its brightly printed surface. Also included is a beautiful condition 1959 Rawlings Spring and Summer Athletic Equipment catalog. The 6 3/4" by 9 1/2" catalog has 82 pages and features an outstanding portrait drawing of Mantle on the cover. An impeccable Mickey Mantle store display piece!
