For many baseball memorabilia aficionados, a Babe Ruth "single" of this quality would constitute a cornerstone of their collection. A superior example of a hobby classic is offered here, originating from a fan's fortunate encounter with the legendary slugger in the 1940s. Perfectly placed by Ruth on the heart of the sweet spot of this OAL (Harridge) ball is his fluidly rendered signature in exceptionally bold blue fountain pen, solidly rating an official 8 out of 10 per PSA/DNA’s accompanying LOA. The ball’s current state of preservation is simply remarkable, remaining only moderately toned with minimal evidence of handling and no significant blemishes. Manufacturer's stampings have faded substantially largely accounting for the ball’s grade of 4, resulting in PSA/DNA’s overall composite grade of 6. In terms of condition and overall aesthetic quality this specimen easily ranks in the upper echelon of Ruth singles offered publicly in recent years. Beautiful EX-MT condition overall.
