Erik Williams is a former offensive tackle who spent the majority of his career blocking for the Dallas Cowboys (1991-2000). He played college football at Central State University in Wilberforce Ohio where he was an NAIA All-American offensive lineman and was a third round draft pick (No. 70 overall) of the Cowboys in the 1991 NFL Draft. Though he played sparingly as a rookie with Nate Newton playing right tackle his level of play during the Cowboys 1992 training camp forced the team to move back Newton to left guard in order to have the best players (including Williams) available on the offensive line. That season the Cowboys not only finished 13-3 and reached their sixth Super Bowl but they blew out the AFC Champion Buffalo Bills in one of the most lopsided Super Bowls ever 52-17. Dallas QB Troy Aikman who completed 22 of 30 passes for 273 yards and four touchdowns was named the game's MVP. Williams was named an All-Pro selection that season his first of three such honors.
This lot features Williams first of three Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl Championship rings he earned during his productive NFL career. The 10K gold beauty is loaded with a sea of diamonds across the face with DALLAS COWBOYS in raised lettering around the top. Smack dab in the center of the plethora of diamonds is a star symbolic of the Cowboys team logo with one large diamond positioned in the middle. The left shank sports WILLIAMS across the top just above the teams final overall record (16-3) NFL logo his position (T) and his uniform number (79). The right shank includes the words WORLD CHAMPIONS 1992 positioned just above the Super Bowl VII logo and the final score of the game (52-17). Its interior band is stamped "LGB 10K" and measures to a size 15. The coveted prize remains in near-mint condition.
