Presented is a large 37" x 44" cardboard die-cut display advertising Gillette Razor Blades. The personality making the pitch was none other than Hall of Fame manager Casey Stengel. Not only was the buyer to receive his purchased Gillette product but included in each sale was a free Encyclopedia of Baseball. Because of its impressive size the display had to be produced in three segments and supported by two large easel-back cardboard pieces both of which are still in place. Casey's image fills the bulk of the piece smilingly stating "What a kick it is to have the answers ... you oughta own this book." How apropos for Stengel who often uttered "You could look it up." Set within a 43" x 51" frame the colorful relic presents apparent EX condition with age-induced wear mostly along the periphery and seams and light soiling at isolated regions. Please note: Due to the size and/or weight of this lot the cost of shipping may be substantial.
