This lot features a very rare style Detroit Pistons home jersey game-worn by former 6 10 center Kent Benson during the early '80s. The 100% polyester Medalist Sand-Knit silver jersey (size 46) shows considerable wear and includes the proper manufacturers tagging on the left front tail. Above this tag is an additional tag which reads "Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the Detroit Pistons." Across the front is "PISTONS" in red-on-blue screen print. Below that and on the back is Bensons player number "54" in the same screen print. Across the back is his last name "BENSON" in blue vinyl lettering. After coming over in the Bob Lanier trade Benson started at center for the Pistons for six years beginning with 1980-81 season in which he averaged a career-high 15.7 points.

Includes Letter of Provenance from collector Bruce Tennen who acquired it directly from the owner of the Pistons' uniform supplier EastSide Team Sports.

A Michigan native Bruce Tennen began his sports business career in the late 1970's covering Arizona teams as an AP journalist. He spent the early 80's working in the front office for the San Diego Clippers before eventually settling down near his hometown of Detroit and building a successful career in financial services. Bruce has facilitated credit and acquisition funding for numerous Detroit Pistons players and executives. These unique experiences and connections have allowed him to build an impressive memorabilia collection. Part 1 of the Bruce Tennen Collection was featured in SCP's 2014 Fall Premier Auction and included an impressive early 1970's Detroit Tigers jersey collection.
