ADDENDUM: Road purple helmet was game-worn by #19 Jim Fox not Dave Taylor as indicated in catalog. Minimum bid has been adjusted.

Offered here is a great pairing of game-worn helmets from two of the more popular players to suit up for the Los Angeles Kings. Right wing Jim Fox played his entire 9-year career for the Kings from 1980-89 finishing with 479 points in 578 games. His best season was 1984-85 when he scored over a point per game finishing with 30 goals and 53 assists. A severe knee injury in 1990 ended his career prematurely but he remained in the Kings organization as a broadcaster has served as the team's most popular on-air personality ever since. The purple road CCM helmet game-worn circa early 1980's has Fox's No. "19" decal in white applied to rear and CCM stamped into the forehead. There are no logos on outer shell. The original chinstrap is intact. The interior padding has hardened from sweat use and age. It shows excellent game use with strips of black tape on the front to amend a couple cracks in the plastic shell.

Defenseman Marty McSorley played 17 NHL seasons including eight with the Kings where he primarily served as team enforcer. A valued teammate of Wayne Gretzky during their years in Edmonton McSorley was a fitting last name considering all the punishment he inflicted on the ice. He regularly accumulated 200+ penalty minutes including an NHL-leading 399 in 1992-93 when the Kings went to the Stanley Cup Finals. His on-ice assault of Donald Brashear with his stick in 2000 led to a suspension and eventual retirement. Nice guy though. The white home JOFA helmet game-worn in the early 1990's has two Kings decals on each side (four total) with a white JOFA logo stamped on the forehead. His No. "33" decal is affixed to the rear below a VM stamp. The interior padding is intact and it comes with its original chinstrip. The adjustable plastic helmet is signed by McSorely on the right in 8/10 black marker and shows solid game use including one crack in the right side.

Includes Letter of Provenance from the Newport Sports Museum. Autograph pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
