During his 19-season Hall of Fame career Luc Robitaille won the Stanley Cup in 200102 with the Detroit Red Wings and played for the Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Rangers but he is most known for his 14 seasons over three different stints with the Los Angeles Kings. He was drafted by the Kings in the 9th round in 1984 and made his NHL debut on Oct. 9 1986 as a fresh-faced 20-year-old. Playing on a line with Dionne and Bryan Erickson Robitaille scored the first of his 668 goals on the first shot of his first shift 16 minutes into the first period of a 4-3 loss to St. Louis at the Great Western Forum. He had 45 goals and 84 total points that season and won the Calder Trophy as NHL Rookie of the Year becoming the only rookie to this day who has led the Kings in scoring over an entire season. Robitaille retired after the 200506 season as the highest-scoring left winger in NHL history and the holder of several Kings franchise records. Here's your chance to bid on two incredible pieces of NHL history from Luc's magical debuthis first career goal puck and the actual game-used stick with which he scored. Even more amazing is that it came off a Marcel Dionne assist to coincide with with his 1600th career point. So this puck holds two milestones in one! Both the puck and stick are blessed with Luc's autograph and inscription and each are backed by a letter from the Kings' legend himself.

The official game puck comes with the Kings older purple logo screened on the face with the orange NHL logo on the reverse. Luc's signature in 6-7/10 black ballpoint with "1st goal" inscription appears over the orange NHL logo. Marcel Dionne has added his autograph there as well in the same pen tone. The puck shows the wear-and-tear typical of an NHL game. Included with the puck is its own specially labeled wooden plaque equipped with a gold-colored puck holder for a nice mounted wall display. The 8" by 10" plaque is one inch thick with a black "LUC ROBITAILLE" nameplate under which is noted "1st NHL GOAL ASSIST-MARCEL DIONNE 1600TH POINT OCTOBER 9 1986." The wood stick is a white Sher-Wood Feather-Balanced P.M.P. 7000 stamped with "ROBITAILLE" and his number "20" near the black cloth-taped knob and handle. The blade is wrapped in light yellow tape. Robitaille has added his autograph twice to the shaft in nearly perfect 9/10 black marker--one about a foot from the top of the handle and the other a foot from the blade with the date inscription "10-9-86." The stick shows game-use fitting of rugged NHL action. Just an incredible combination of items to capture an incredible moment for not one but two Hall of Famers.

Includes two Letters of Authenticity from Luc Robitaille. The 10/18/1986 letter for the stick is the original. The 1/31/1992 letter for the puck is a copy of the original which is used for Lot XXX to document it and two other Robitaille game-used milestone pucks donated to the Newport Sports Museum. Also comes with a Letter of Provenance from the museum. Autographs and inscriptions pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
