Jack Kramer was one of the top tennis players in the world in the 1940's and 50's ranked World No. 1 for in 1946 when he won the U.S. Championship. In '47 he won that title again along with Wimbledon and claimed two professional majors soon after. The tall and slender American was the first world-class player to bring a consistent and relentless serve-and-volley style. He was also considered a key figure in establishing Open-era tennis between amateur and professional players. He passed away in 2009.

This lot includes three autographed items from the Hall of Famer. First is an early 1980's Wilson 'The Jack Kramer Autograph' wood racquet in NM-MT condition showing light to moderate use on the outer rim. Kramer donated it to the Newport Sports Museum so it is possible that he played with it during his senior days but we cannot confirm that. He signed the upper handle in 7-8/10 black marker. Next is the racquet's matching Wilson 'Jack Kramer' cover autographed in similar fashion with the inscription "To John Hamilton Best of Luck." (Hamilton is the founder of the Newport Sports Museum.) Last but not least is a USPTA ProPenn 4 tennis ball signed by Kramer and again personalized "To John Hamilton." Very nice trio of items from one of the all-time greats in tennis.

Includes Letter of Provenance from the Newport Sports Museum. Autographs pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
