Chris Evert is one of the most decorated female athletes of all-time and certainly one of the best tennis players. The striking blond from South Florida won 18 Grand Slam singles championships and three doubles titles. From 1974-81 she ended the year as the World No. 1 singles player every year but one (1979) and developed a huge rivalry with her good friend Martina Navratilova. Overall Evert won 157 singles championships and 32 doubles titles reaching 34 Grand Slam singles finals--more than any player man or woman in the history of professional tennis. Her consistency was unparalleled as she never lost in the first or second round of a Grand Slam singles tournament. She won a record seven French Opens and a record six U.S. Opens (since tied by Serena Williams in 2014).Presented here is one of Evert's match-used racquets from her reign in the early 1980's. The Wilson Pro Staff signature model has "Chris Evert" stamped four times on the rim and "Endorsed by CHRIS EVERT for Championship Play" near the handle with "4 5/8 L MADE IN USA" on the other side of the handle flanking a silhouette image of a female player (presumably Evert). The wooden racquet with a brown leather grip shows excellent use with three broken strings at the top and court marks on the outer rim. Comes with its brown leather case.

Includes Letter of Authenticity from mother of former U.S. tennis player Luke Jensen. Letter of Provenance from the Newport Sports Museum as well.
