Few pitchers intimidated opposing hitters like the great Don Drysdale. Standing 6'5" the right-handed hurler looked like a giant on the mound as he stared down at the batter's box. This lot features two game-worn pairs of cleats from the prime of Big Don's career with the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 1960's. First up is a pair of black Spot-Bilt (now Saucony) leather shoes with Don's No. "53" marked in black inside each tongue the right one displaying the Spot-Bilt logo patch on the outer tongue. "222 9D" is stamped outside each tongue perhaps pertaining to model and size. Both shoes come with their original Rawlings 'Fleet Feet' insoles for extra cushioning. The bottoms are equipped with five metal spikes and have remnants of dirt and grass still clinging to them.

The second pair is made of black leather and rubber-cleated on the bottom perhaps for use on harder surfaces during that era. The tongues have the Spalding logo with "Style No. 67-503" "SIZE 095-9½" and "AI 3023" all stamped in white. The rubber bottoms are stamped with Lawrence Sports Footwear (part of New Balance) signifying a joint production by the two apparel companies. The 12 cleats molded into the outsole are all intact only heavily worn down at this point. Both pairs of Drysdale game-worn baseball shoes display solid game use and come with their original black laces. You can just picture these shoes sitting at the foot of Drysdale's locker awaiting another dominant start by the Hall of Famer.

Includes LOA from the Drysdale family.
