Dikembe Mutombo wore these Nike shoes in the 1990's during his heyday in the NBA where he dominated defensively as no other player has before or since. The 7-2 260-lb. center is commonly referred to as one of the greatest shot blockers and defensive players of all time winning the NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award four times; he was also an eight-time All-Star. For his career he averaged 2.8 blocks and 10.3 rebounds per game. He is second all-time in registered blocks behind only Hakeem Olajuwon and is the 21st most prolific rebounder ever. Mutombo also could contribute offensively averaging at least 10 points per game until he reached age 35 and ending with 11729 points and a 9.8 ppg average for his career.

With that intro comes these Size 22 Nike white leather shoes and a spectacular game-worn Nuggets jersey the former being monsters befitting the great defensive terror shoes that might be workable as a home for wayward youths were they not so valuable as a collectible. This pair shows game use but is in spectacular condition with snowy white leather body and black leather Nike swoosh highlights on each side and embroidered black stitch Nike swoosh and "Air" on the heels. The Size 22 manufacturer's label appears on the inside tongue of each shoe in the cushioned black fabric interiors with attached "Nike" white embroidered loop on the back of each shoe. Mutombo has signed in bold black Sharpie on the white leather section near the heel of both shoes adding his No. 55 inscription. Also included with the lot is a 5-by-2-inch plastic nameplate with gold finish noting "Dikembe Mutombo Size 22."

The blazing white jersey features "Nuggets" across the front in black gold and burgundy stacked tackle twill the same configuration used for his No. 55 front and back and the same color scheme for the knitted collar and shoulders trim. "Mutombo" appears across the mesh jersey in black tackle twill sewn directly to the shirt. The Majestic manufacturer's label appears on the front-left tail alongside the Champions Size 48 tagging. The iconic NBA red. white and blue embroidered logo patch appears on the left shoulder. The jersey is in dazzling condition showing game use and problem-free with only the slightest fraying of any of the stitching on the team nickname or his name on the back. Mutombo has signed prominently in black Sharpie on the back to the right of his uniform number adding his No. 55 inscription.
