An extraordinary single-signed baseball from one of the deadball era's most legendary shortstops, this ball is stamped "Honus Wagner City League" along with the manufacturer's specifications for a 9-inch, 5-ounce horsehide-cover, cork-center baseball. Wagner has signed the ball in period fountain-pen ink, with his signature accompanied by the inscription "Pittsburgh" along with a clearly written date of December 21, 1936, providing exceptional documented context for the autograph.

 

The leather shows attractive overall toning and aging consistent with a ball nearly ninety years old, with the green and red stitching still vibrant against the cream surface. Wagner endorsed this City League model through his sporting goods company bearing his name, making this both a manufacturer-branded piece and a genuine single-signed example from one of the most desirable autographs in the hobby. PSA/DNA has issued a letter of authenticity confirming the signature's originality.
