Longtime ace Dave Stewart shined when it mattered most: October. A 20-game winner four straight years for his hometown Oakland A’s (1987-90), “Smoke” started the ’89 All-Star Game for the American League and later that year was named MVP of the 1989 Fall Classic (Bay Bridge Series). The three-time World Series champ won a pair of ALCS MVP awards as well. “Stew” got his final ring with the Toronto Blue Jays in ’93, retiring with 168 career victories along with 10 playoff wins and an impressive 2.77 postseason ERA.

Oakland continued to torment the A.L. in 1990, winning 103 games before sweeping Boston in the ALCS just as they did two years earlier. In Games One and Four, Stewart shut down the Red Sox with eerily similar eight-inning, one-run gems to claim series MVP honors. The A’s were swept by the Reds in the Fall Classic, notwithstanding Stew’s dominant complete game performance in Game Four in which he allowed just one earned run. The right-handed workhorse compiled a 22-11 record during the regular season with a career-best 2.56 ERA and four shutouts, including a no-hitter against his future team, ironically.

For his efforts helping Oakland win the pennant and make the World Series, Stew was awarded this 1990 A.L. Championship 10-karat gold ring. The face features three medium-sized diamonds with a backdrop of the team’s famed elephant mascot atop a green stone surrounded by "OAKLAND AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS". One shank has "STEWART" with an enameled team logo and "A's-4 B-0" (ALCS series tally). The other has the "Athletics" script logo between “1990” and the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum with the season attendance of "2,900,217". Inside the band is stamped "10K JOSTENS". The ring comes in size 11 and weighs 48 grams. It shows moderate wear and still presents wonderfully.

Includes LOA signed by Dave Stewart (printed in B&W and signed in black pen).
