Crosley Field was the home of the Cincinnati Reds from 1912 to 1970. The Cincinnati Bengals of the American Football League called the park home in 1937 and 1940-1941 but contrary to popular belief the current NFL team of the same name never played there. Ernie Lombardi once hit a home run that landed in a truck traveling beyond the outfield fence. The truck carried the ball for 30 miles. Writers facetiously called this the "longest home run" in history. Cincinnati's Crosley Field was one of baseball's smallest stadiums its seating capacity never exceeding 30000. The site of the first major league night game Crosley Field served as home to such greats as Johnny Vander Meer Ernie Lombardi Frank Robinson and Pete Rose before its demise in June of 1970.

Here offered is a Queen City diamond artifact: a seat spared from the famed National League edifice. Measuring 31"-tall and 21"-wide this folding wooden seat and three-panel wooden back rest are secured within a sturdy steel framework with armrests two bottom panels and a "C-REDS" logo figural design on the right side. Decorated with a vintage coat of bright-red paint the item has a stenciled 5 identifier but was likely situated at the far left end of an aisle as evidenced by the figural design. The seat shows moderate wear remaining quite sturdy.

Includes a Letter of Provenance from The Newport Sports Museum.
