The Oakland Invaders were a professional football team that played in the Western Conference of the now-defunct United States Football League (USFL). They competed over the course of three seasons (1983 to 85). This lot includes two items from the team. The first is a game-worn Oakland Invaders helmet that belonged to wide receiver Ronnie Mallett. A talented wideout with impeccable hands and a nose for the ball Mallett was the University of Central Arkansas' first-ever College Football Hall of Fame inductee. He earned First Team NAIA All-America honors from 1979-81 the first in school history to achieve the distinction three times. He helped guide Central Arkansas to a 33-8-2 record and three conference championships in four seasons. The BIKE-manufactured helmet is sporting the Invaders royal blue-and-butterscotch color scheme along with the teams Invaders logo of a fist holding a lightning bolt on either side. It shows some game use and includes Malletts No. 83 on the rear of the helmet. The second item is a team-signed football from the teams last season of 1985 when they won the USFLs Western Conference Championship with a record of 15-5-1. The official USFL Wilson white panel football which shows ample cracking due to excessive exposure to the sun includes more than 40 legible signatures in blue ink from the team including Anthony Carter Bobby Hebert (pictured) and Gary Plummer. Two memorable conversation pieces from the league that tried to run parallel paths with the NFL.

From the collection of the late Dave Rahn the 49ers' Director of Operations for 16 years. Includes LOA from his wife. Signed football pre-certified by PSA/DNA.

From 1986-2002 Dave Rahn served an integral role within the San Francisco 49ers organization. Starting as a public relations and media coordinator he soon took over as director of travel and team services where he was responsible for all football operations including travel and accommodations practice schedules lodging and meal planning. He later managed the concert tours for Fleetwood Mac Sheryl Crow and Lionel Richie. In 2014 Dave Rahn passed away after a courageous 2-year battle with cancer. "He was like a wheel and all these spokes from those years came from him" said his close friend former linebacker Gary Plummer. "He kept the 49ers family from those times together." His collection includes dozens of 49ers game-worn and autographed items gifted by the many players and staff members who were loyal friends to Dave and will forever remain close to his loving family.
