Circa 1972-74 Kentucky Colonels of the American Basketball Association (ABA) home uniform game-worn by shooting guard Rick Mount.

The All-America guard out of Purdue was Indiana's high school Mr. Basketball in 1966 and graced the cover of Sports Illustrated's 2/14/1966 issue, the first time a high school player had done that.

"The Rocket" remains a folk hero in Indiana and his name is always in the mix when the greatest outside shooters of all-time are discussed. How many youngsters in Indiana grew up shooting hoops on their "goal", dreaming of being the next Rick Mount?

Mount helped the Indiana Pacers win the 1972 ABA title before joining the Colonels in 1972-73, where Mount again reached the ABA Finals, this time losing to his former Pacers squad.

For this special uniform, across the front reads an arched “Colonels” in blue. Player No. 30 appears front and back. Across the back reads the player name "Mount." All numbering and lettering are done in the same blue sewn directly onto the white knit jersey. It displays solid game use with some brownish staining on the left shoulder strap, yet still displays beautifully. On the front right tail of the white jersey is a Rawlings size “40” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. It appears that another tag was attached to the side but has since come off.

Matching shorts have a Rawlings size “32” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions sewn inside the back waistband. Number 30 in dark marker is written on top of the Rawlings tag. Shorts display heavy use with some staining on the front.

Mount appears in this style uniform, possibly this exact one, on his beautiful 1973-74 Topps basetball card. This rare ABA game-worn uniform represents one of the more popular styles and teams of the era.

Note that the Rick Mount Sports Illustrated pictured is not included, only shown for informational purposes.
