Addendum: These shoes were manufactured in 2000 but would have been worn by Jordan circa 2001-03 during his final two years in the NBA.

This pair of Nike Air Jordan XV low-top sneakers are not only dual-signed by Michael Jordan they are also believed to have been worn by "His Airness" circa 2001-03 as he closed out his career with the Washington Wizards. After Jordan again announced his retirement from basketball in 1998 designer Tinker Hatfield was once again challenged to design a shoe that MJ was never supposed to wear on the court. Hatfield found inspiration in the X-15 fighter plane from the 1950s which at the time set numerous speed records. It was the Hatfield's final Air Jordan design before a 5-year absence. The Air Jordan XV was released in four colorway versions in 1999-2000. The XV was also released in player exclusive colors. Several Team Jordan athletes including Mike Bibby Michael Finley Ray Allen and Reggie Miller wore the AJ XV's during games.

These Air Jordan XV white and navy blue colorways are made of white leather canvas with blue on the interior sides outsole and front tips. Jumpman logo on the insole (next to "XV") tongue outside ankle and outsole. "JORDAN" stamped on the rear heel in blue. Tinker Hatfield's XV design is creative and symbolic with woven Kevlar material on each side of the laces a fully molded Pebax reinforced heel counter and a large meshtongue that sticks out as if to mimic MJ during flight. The heel counter extends to the outsole and has "2.17" to commemorate Jordan's Feb. 17birthday. The shoes have a hidden speed lacing system and feature a full Zoom Air-Sole for cushioning. Nike tagging underneath the tongue includes the "03-17-00" manufacturing date and "000305 Y3" player sample code. The sneakers come in Jordan's size 13 and show evidence of moderate wear with heel drag and internal sock sweating. Unfortunately there is no information from the consignor as to when and where they were put to use. Jordan has autographed each shoe on the lower outside foot area in almost perfect 9-10/10 bright blue Sharpie.

Includes two full LOA's from PSA/DNA one for each shoe.
