A tremendous color image that captures true baseball royalty – the Hit King and the Strikeout King. Taken in the 1980s, Pete Rose and Sandy Koufax are shown in uniform and on the field before a game. During their careers, Koufax got the better of Rose, with the Hit King going 10 for 57 against the Strikeout King. In an interview, Pete Rose admitted that he couldn’t “hit his weight” against Koufax, adding that he weighed 202 pounds and hit a measly .175 against him. A wonderful photo of two of the greatest ballplayers of all time. The front of the photo retains bold color and has been printed to its edge. The reverse is free of any markings or stamps. The photograph measures 8” x 10” and has been encapsulated and graded a Type 1 by PSA.
