Lucius Allen won two National Championships under legendary coach John Wooden before moving on to a very productive and consistent 11-year career in the NBA in which he averaged 13.4 points and 4.5 assists per game. The 6'2" point guard was taken #3 overall in the 1969 NBA draft by the Seattle SuperSonics before being traded to the Milwaukee Bucks the next year where he won an NBA title while playing alongside his UCLA college teammate Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Allen later played for the Los Angeles Lakers from 1974-77 and featured here is a pair of his game-worn home shorts from that era of his career. The yellow size 42 Tiernan shorts have a purple waistband purple sides and white and purple trim. They show excellent wear with sweat stains and stretching.Includes Letter of Provenance from collector Bruce Tennen.
Bruce Tennen's passion for Tigers baseball as a boy eventually lead him to pursue a career in the sports industry covering Arizona teams as an AP journalist in the late 70s and working in the front office for the San Diego Clippers in the early 80s. He would later move on to a successful career in mortgage banking arranging credit and acquisition funding for numerous Pistons players executives and broadcasters. Bruce has been fortunate enough to build relationships with dozens of professional athletes and team executives giving him the connections necessary to build his impressive collection.
