Any classic image of "Dr. J" is treasured, especially during his early ABA playing days with the Virginia Squires. Julius Erving is pictured here on the dribble.
Paired against "The Doctor" in this cool photo is ABA legend (for a variety of reasons!) John Brisker, defending Erving in his Pittsburgh Condors uniform.
Brisker was a talented, fearless and mysterious character. Erving was a supremely skilled and charismatic superstar. These two players somehow capture the essence of the ABA.
