This super rare capture of Lew Alcindor, courtesy of United Press International, was taken during his freshnman year at UCLA when he was forced to play on the Freshman squad per NCAA rules at that time. The original photograph of Alcindor in his UCLA uniform and warm-up jacket on the bench has been authenticated as Type I by PSA/DNA. The 8" x 10" image has wonderful eye appeal and remains crystal clear. The verso reads "Lew Alcindor on bench during game w/ Orange Coast College." The original UPI stamping is also present on the back.
