Joe Collins put together a solid season for the Yankees in 1953. The lefty batted .269 with 17 home runs and 44 RBI in 127 games. Collins' efforts helped the Yanks secure their record fifth consecutive World Series title. 

 

Offered is a H&B 'S44' bat used by Collins during that 1953 championship season. The 35 inch, 31.3 oz. ash bat exhibits evidence of outstanding use, with a repaired handle crack. Slight checking from repeated ball contact is on the back barrel. Many ball marks are visible on all sides of the barrel. Also visible are red bat rack streaks. According to John Taube of PSA/DNA, bats of Joe Collins are scarce and this is just the second Collins professional model bat in their database. Taube gave the bat a GU 8 for the use. 

Payment for your invoice must clear in full prior to shipping. All items will be shipped from SCP Auctions’ Laguna Niguel, CA office in the order that payments are received.
