C. 1949 Yogi Berra Original Photograph Used For His 1950 Bowman Card – PSA/DNA Type 1 Yogi Berra was just beginning his career as the Yankees' starting catcher when this official team photo was taken. The future Hall of Famer is wearing the tools of his trade in a classic catcher’s pose for the photographer. This attractive “action” image was so aesthetically pleasing that the artists at the Bowman Gum Company used it for their 1950 baseball card. Paired with his 1950 card, the photo would make a dynamic Yogi Berra display. The Type 1 photo shows nice sepia toning throughout. The reverse has a New York Yankees credit stamp and several handwritten and typed notations, including “1950 Bowman.” The photo has been encapsulated and graded a Type 1 by PSA/DNA.
Payment for your invoice must clear in full prior to shipping. All items will be shipped from SCP Auctions’ Laguna Niguel, CA office in the order that payments are received. Please allow up to three business days following clearance of payment for items to ship. All items will be shipped UPS/FedEx Ground unless you contact us to discuss an alternative shipping method. Prior to bidding, please be aware of estimated shipping costs, especially for large or heavy lots.
