There are no two names in the history of sports that evoke more reverence than Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. Their legends have reached mythical proportions and their faces are woven into the tapestry of American history. Thus their stature in the realm of sports memorabilia is similarly unparalleled. Offered here is a spectacular example of one of the most sought after collectibles in the hobby.

This red-and-black stitched Official National League (Heydler) baseball dates from approximately the 1926-1933 manufacturing period. The form and characteristics of the autographs it bears suggest it was signed towards the earlier side of that span possibly coinciding with the duos watershed 1927 campaign. PSA/DNA has graded Ruths sweet spot signature on the offered ball "7" and the adjacent Gehrig signature "8." The ball itself has been graded "7" and additional consideration for the balls superb aesthetic quality results in an overall grade of "8."

This is technically the second-highest Ruth/Gehrig ball ever evaluated by PSA/DNA. The lone example graded higher by a mere half point (8.5) sold at auction for $343650 in 2013. Nearly perfect in all respects this is among the finest objects ever offered at auction celebrating the iconic duo that stood as pillars of the first Yankees dynasty.

Includes a full LOA from PSA/DNA (Overall Grade NM-MT 8) and a full LOA from James Spence/JSA.
