From the height of their reign together the offered red and green stitched Rawlings "Special League" baseball bears the signatures of the greatest slugging duo ever featured in a single lineup. In addition to the balls era of manufacture the style of the signatures presented by Ruth and Gehrig are indicative of a c.1927-28 origin. Babe has signed his customary sweet spot position with a beautiful and large signature in blue ink (8/10). The quotes around the Babe portion of the signature are typical of the period. Gehrig has added his blue ink signature (7-8/10) to the panel west of Ruth's in a proximity that allows both to be viewed from a single vantage. The ball is quite clean and bright with only some minor traces of soiling and general surface wear. Given the overall quality and era of origin this ball holds up among the finer Ruth/Gehrig combos in the hobby.
