Circa 1900 flat topped tennis racket. "The Franklin New York" decal model. Wood frame strong with sinew strings. Plain woodhandle which only slightly swells towards bottom. Flat knobbed bottom is uncovered. Weight "12 OZ" and type "EXPERT" stampedon side of handle. In very good condition with not a string broken.
Circa 1910 "The Demon" model tennis racket. Manufactured by an Irish or English company. Linen biding on lower frame of head with silk cord. Incised groove down length of lower handle. Bottom of handle bulges out. "BEST IS BEST S & L TRADE MARK THRO' THE WORLD" stamped on other side. Handle has been flattened out on one side. "G.H.M." initials on one side. Several strings broken. About Good condition.
Circa 1930's "Don Budge World Champion Ghost" Model tennis racket. Manufactured by Wilson Sporting Goods. Frame only. Upper portion of handle and frame has white painted surface with image of decal featuring Don Budge on both sides of handle.
Includes a Letter of Provenance from the Helms Athletic Foundation/LA84 Collection.
