This lot includes a trio of turn-of-the-century "Workman's" style ball gloves that feature one of the earliest appearances of a web - amounting to nothing more than a thin leather swatch incorporated between the index finger and the thumb. Each glove measures about 9" vertically and retains its original wrist strap button. One glove indicates no manufacturer's identification and has no interior padding. The other two examples are marked as Victor and Winchester models respectively. Extensive use is evident on all three which average GD condition.
Accompanying the gloves is a period “birdcage” style catcher’s mask. The mask is structurally sound with original leather padding intact. Original straps and buckles are present but have broken in places. No manufacturers marking could be found but the mask appears to be of professional quality. GD-VG condition.
