Clarence Linden "Buster" Crabbe II won Olympic gold in 1932 for the 400m freestyle in swimming. Buster Crabbe then turned his talents towards Hollywood and became the only actor to play Tarzan Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers the top three syndicated comic strip heroes of the 1930s. In 1982 the General Alumni Association of the University of Southern California honored Buster Crabbe with this Merit Award. The statue with base stands 14" high and weighs in at a hefty 12.5 pounds.
