Clarence Linden "Buster" Crabbe II won Olympic gold in 1932 for the 400m freestyle in swimming. Buster Crabbe then turned his talents towards Hollywood and became the only actor to play Tarzan Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers the top three syndicated comic strip heroes of the 1930s. The Burroughs Bibliophiles is a worldwide organization of aficionados who share a love for the works and characters of the American author Edgar Rice Burroughs the celebrated author of Tarzan. It was only fitting for the organization to recognize Buster Crabbe in 1973 as their "Guest of Honor". The statue shows minor wear but would be considered in excellent condition given 41 years of wear.
