Team Canada 1972 Team of the Century 14K Gold ring given to defenseman Bred park who played in all 8 games of the series. The 1972 CanadaUSSR Series or Summit Series was an eight-game set of games between the Soviet Union and Canada held in September of 1972. It was the first competition between the Soviet National team and a Canadian team made up entirely of professional players from the National Hockey League. The Russians had dominated International play for years as all professional players were banned so this would truly be a showdown to determine who actually was the best team in the world. After splitting the first 4 games in Canada and then losing game 5 in Russia Team Canada went on to sweep the Soviets the final 3 and take the series 5 games to 3. Park came into the National Hockey League in 1968 with New York and played with the Rangers until 1975. He also played with the Bruins(1975-1983) and Red Wings(1983-1985). Named an All-Star 9 times Park was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1988. 9 real diamonds with 45 points are on top surrounded by "TEAM OF THE CENTURY" in gold on black enamel. "Park" "5" and a raised Maple Leaf 1972 logo are on one side with "TEAM CANADA" "1972" and the same raised Maple Leaf 1972 logo on the other. Inside stamped "14K" and "PI". Total weight of the ring is 19.20 gr. Ring size 11 3/4. Ring given to a Hall of Fame player from one of the most important matches in Hockey History.

LOA from the auction house which sold the Brad Park Collection. 6/12/2002 Certificate of Appraisal for the ring. At that time estimated Retail Replacement Value $4300.
