As the Yankees 1958 baseball campaign unfolded it became ever more apparent that a pitching staff that was anchored by Hall of Famer Whitey Ford needed a good deal of patchwork through the rest of the rotation but no one could have imagined the role that a blossoming right-handed flame thrower named Bullet Bob Turley would play as the club nailed down its ninth pennant in 10 seasons.

Brought to the Yankees in 1955 in what is still today the largest trade in Major League Baseball history (17 players involved) Turley struggled with his control while establishing himself in the rotation. He even changed his delivery in an effort to improve his control and it all came together in remarkable fashion in 1958 when at age 27 he won 21 games and lost only seven led the league in complete games and finished with an ERA of 2.97. His World Series heroics included a brilliant complete game shutout in Game 5 to stave off elimination; he followed that up a 10th-inning save in Game 6 then relieved Don Larsen in the third inning of Game 7 and pitched 6 2/3 innings of two-hit relief as the Yankees broke hearts across the Midwest with an amazing comeback to win the Series.

Here then is the prized treasure the 1958 World Series ring from Bob Turley the man who parlayed his finest MLB season into a Cy Young Award the World Series MVP Award and the Hickok Belt in rocketing to national prominence on the biggest stage in baseball. It was a meteoric rise that ranks among the great single-season triumphs of an otherwise relatively modest professional career. Turley ring features a real diamond at center set in baseball diamond motif surrounded by "New York Yankees World Champions" on top. Both sides bear "1958" above the Yankee top hat logo amidst laurel leaves. The band interior is engraved Robert Turley in script and stamped Balfour 14k. The size 11 ring is in excellent overall condition with minor wear from use.
