ADDENDUM: THE JERSEY IS NOT AUTOGRAPHED BY PETE ROSE.: The Philadelphia Phillies brought the eventual all-time hits leader Pete Rose to the City of Brotherly Love in 1979 thinking he could be the missing piece that would catapult the perennial East Division champs into the World Series and the notoriously impatient Philly Phaithful needed wait only one year before Pete did just that. Maybe not single-handedly but few historians would downplay his contribution as the club won its first-ever world title in that uproarious season. With such lofty historical oomph comes this wonderful game-worn Rose jersey that must rank as a key piece of memorabilia from the club's joyous World Series title year. On the left front tail of is the "Wilson" manufacturer's Size 44 tag with wash instructions. Below that is the 80 3 chain stitched strip tag. On the inside back collar is the Rose" chain stitched strip tag. On the left breast is the burgundy tackle twill Phillies "P" logo. On the right breast and on the back is the player number "14". Across the back is the player name "Rose" on a white nameplate. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind; shirt is problem free with only the slightest whisper of fraying of the burgundy stitching around the tackle twill elements mostly around the large No. 14 on the back. It's difficult to overstate the significance of a gamer from the all-time hits leader easily one of the most colorful beloved and sometimes controversial players of his generation.
